"It's not me, its universal."

ABOUT

Terese Elhard

The practice of mysterese is considerably graphic art, community building, and professional play.

Having been involved in various leadership roles, my organizational skills have prepared me to work in a professional industry. A number of travelling experiences and relocations have instilled an eagerness to initiate discovery and progress. My enthusiastic and calmly accepting personality allows me to engage in projects with clients, coworkers, and collaborators with ease.

I admire cultures surrounding nature and the outdoors. Whether strapped in or gripped on, I seek moments of quickly moving motions on mountains and in concrete bowls.

HISTERESE

I was born and raised between the North Shore of Lake Superior and the North Woods of Minnesota. Very early in my life, I was exposed to the mystique of lakes and lands navigated by my families in a rural farm community. Living in Bemidji, near the headwaters of the Mississippi River and the home of Paul Bunyan and Babe the Blue Ox, folklore became imbedded in my curiosities. Throughout my life, I am cultivating and communicating stories no matter how big or small. My parent's recollections about their childhoods in the country, the memories I have made in the wilderness and wild cities in Oregon, and the process behind my design work make valuable connections to my everyday life. My practice in graphic arts is influenced by the steady excitement and care that I have for new environments.

I originally started doing graphics (on a "crap-in-tosh" computer) as a high school student bored with reports about physical health. As an athlete in high school I minimized my concentration on scores, rather, making a constant out of best efforts and team playing. Despite putting a hold on team sports a long time ago to pursue community art, I continue to value the making of connections with a great range of people along with art that is active in a variety of ways. I recognize, as a person and as a graphic artist, this adaptability is what enables the good energy to move on.
